Pre-Tribulation Rapture Deception

In this article we will show that the “rapture” happens after the tribulation. We will show that God’s elect and even his firstfruits will have to go through the tribulation. When this post-tribulation rapture happens we will first be changed into spirit bodies.

Jesus provides a warning about what will happen to those who fall for the Rapture deception.

For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. (Luke 9:24)

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death. (Revelation 21:8)

150,000 people die every year just for being a Christian. Many Bible stories, such as Daniel almost being burned alive by Nebuchadnezzar, teach us to have faith and courage in the face of death. It is easy to be loyal when everything is going alright. Will one still be loyal in the face of extreme adversity? God is looking for people who will not betray him to enter his heavenly kingdom. He can not risk another rebellion, therefore only those he can really trust will be let in. Did God spare Paul, Stephen, Peter or John the Baptist? None were spared death, persecutions or tribulation. Tribulation is what brings glory to us and spiritually improves us.

And calling the crowd to him with his disciples, he said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. (Mark 8:34)

strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God. (Acts 14:22)

Many people cite the following passage as evidence of the rapture doctrine.

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4)

The Bible warns about a “falling away” when the man of sin, whom is the “little horn” is revealed. The greek word from which “falling away” is translated is “apostasia.” According to Friberg’s Greek Lexicon, this word has the following meaning.

3252  avpostasi,a, aj, h` as a condition resulting from changing loyalties revolt, desertion; as a religious technical term; (1) apostasy, rebellion (2TH 2.3); (2) defection, abandonment (AC 21.21)

This apostasy that is spoken of is referring to Christians abandoning their religion in mass. This will be caused by the little horn’s deceptions as well as Satan coming to earth disguised as Jesus. This counterfeit Jesus will promote a bastardized form of Christianity where one strives to evolve to Christ Consciousness. Satan will tempt humans the same way he tempted Eve in the garden. “Ye shall be like Gods…”

Even God’s elect will not escape this time period.

Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation, (Revelation 13:7)

Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. (Revelation 20:4)

For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. So, if they say to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ do not go out. If they say, ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather. (Matthew 24:28)

God’s elect will have a job to do. They will not be flying anywhere.

And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto nomagistrates, and nppowers, qtake ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say. (Luke 12:11-12)

The church of Philadelphia represents God’s church of firstfruits. These firstfruits are the elect of the elect. Those who obey the commandments of God are the church of Philadelphia.

(Referring to Philadelphia)…I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. (Revelation 3:8)

God’s name is symbolic of Gods word (Revelation 19:13). Having God’s name on your forehead is symbolic of obeying the commandments. Please read this article for more information.

Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads…These are those who did not defile themselves with women, for they kept themselves pure. They follow the Lamb wherever he goes. They were purchased from among men and offered as firstfruits to God and the Lamb. (Revelation 14:1,4)

These firstfruits will not be raptured away, they will be killed by Satan. Notice it is Philadelphia (those who keep the commandments of God) who the dragon makes war against.

Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And he stood on the sand of the sea. (Revelation 12:7)

If even God’s firstfruits, whom are the best of the best, will be killed in this tribulation then who exactly will it be who gets to escape from all of this? Who are these that will be raptured away? Dying for God is something that one should look forward to. It should be considered an act of glorification, not something to be avoided.

I suspect that these 144,000 firstfruits (Philadelphia) are the ones who will be beheaded and otherwise slain before the great multitude is refined through the fires of the tribulation (Revelation 7:14).

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled. (Revelation 6:9-11)

The real gathering (rapture) will happen after the tribulation.

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. (Matthew 24:21-28)

The above verse is speaking of the time period during and after the tribulation. Notice, once again, God’s elect will still be here for the tribulation. The second coming is compared to lightning that comes from the east and shines as far as the west. This implies that it will be impossible to miss the second coming. We are then compared to corpses of dead animals and the angels are compared to vultures. This implies that it will be impossible to be missed by the angels. They know where you are and will find you.

The Bible further clarifies this period of time. At the end of the tribulation we will be changed into spirit bodies.

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. (1st Corinthians 15:51-53)

After we have been changed into spirit bodies, Jesus will send out his angels to collect God’s elect. Notice that this happens AFTER the tribulation! So if anyone tries to rapture you away before you have been changed into a spirit entity then you can be sure it is a counterfeit rapture.

Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” (Matthew 24:29-31) “

The “great multitude” is said to have come out of the tribulation. One must endure the tribulation. There will be no one who gets to escape from this.

After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, “Who are these, clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?” I said to him, “Sir, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. (Revelation 7:9,13-14)

Ezekiel also seems to warn about the rapture deception.

And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the women that sew pillows to all armholes, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls! Will ye hunt the souls of my people, and will ye save the souls alive that come unto you? And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies? (Ezekiel 13:18-19)

“Sew pillows to all armhole, and make kerchiefs upon the head of every stature to hunt souls!” The above passage is referring to people who promote a one size fits all doctrine. This doctrine is the “All you have to do is believe in me” doctrine. God chastises these teachers who promote such deceptive doctrine. He charges them with murdering (soul death) his people. Christians also have to obey God’s commandments. God’s mark is obedience to his laws. Please read this article for information about God’s mark vs the mark of the beast. Furthermore the Bible makes it quite clear that there are many things which will keep you from entering God’s heavenly kingdom. The Bible even implies that one of Satan’s deceptions is this one size fits all doctrine.

Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders (1 Corinthians 6:9)

Ezekiel specifically warns that these false teachers will be trying to lead people through the wide gate of destruction with the “fly away doctrine.”

Wherefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against your pillows, wherewith ye there hunt the souls to make them fly, and I will tear them from your arms, and will let the souls go, even the souls that ye hunt to make them fly. (Ezekiel 13:20)

The above passage states that these false teachers are trying to destroy the souls of men by teaching the “fly away doctrine.” They teach that people won’t have to make any hard decisions. They wont have to study prophecy because they will just be flown away before everything gets bad. This is a doctrine that will inevitably lead many people to their eternal destruction. Many Christians will attempt to flee from the horrors of the tribulation with this fly away doctrine. The Bible states that these people will lose their salvation (Luke 9:24).

I don’t know when Jesus will come and when the saints will be taken. No doubt, some saints will have to go through very hard times in this world. I can only pray for the Lord’s mercy on those who are His during all tribulations. Thanks for sharing. Connie

Amen and I agree totally with you. I ran into a short article titled “Pretrib Rapture Politics” on Google (I believe) that says a lot and hits home. It might be of interest to your readers. God bless you as you stand up for truth.

It’s Hananiah Mishael and Azariah thrown into fiery furnace not Daniel since he wasn’t present during worship of idol set by Nebuchadnezzar. Moreover, Daniel who was thrown into Lion’s Den. Thus, seeing the mistake made using wrong example scripture reference it shows that you need to improve your biblical scripture.

    Daniel 1:6
6Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: 7Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.

    Daniel 3:1-30
1Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

13Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king. 14Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up? 15Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?

  4. Vincent W says:

Thanks for the article John. The line that really sticks in my head is “They wont have to study prophecy because they will just be flown away before everything gets bad.”

That is so true. Most Christians just do not study! They think they know all they need to know.

    • Yup, very true. Unforunately, when the demons land posing as aliens, most people will latch on to the most popular televangelists and preachers. These will lead them to their destruction.

      God bless

  5. Fennell-Word says:

Jesus told us all we need to know in the Holy Bible! There is no mystery if you will study to show yourself approved. We need to have a Personal Relationship with Christ and anything we ask to futher His Ministery will be given. There is not a pre-Rapture and yes that we will all be transformed into spiritual beings at the 7th Trump…Do not be deceived!!!

  6. Jason says:

Hey guys. By reading the bible I am starting to doubt many traditional views, the pre-trib rapture is one of them. I just read an article by a non-tradionalist and I can’t seem to get around it. If anyone can read it and explain if there are any errors in it, I would appreciate.

the site is: “unto the ages.wordpress.com” and the article, “prepare to be raptured, or left behind”.

  7. NYC_Chic says:

I have to apologize for telling you to get off the internet. I read one post and thought you were nuts : ) bt maybe you’re just in this world and not of it.

It is hard for me to condemn islam or to believe that the good guys in the war between islam and the west are the Neocons under the rulership of Israel. Those people are being slaughtered, tortured, robbed and lied about. Its hard to see them as the “bad guys”.

I believe what you say about not ever denying the Christ and I will keep it in mind. I will also continue reading your posts.

Safe travels, brother and be blessed.
